To say the last few weeks have been a challenge is an understatement. My poor little toddler has had a chest infection and this UNI assessment has definitely been put on the back burner.
However, this is a draft of my assessment and I would love your honest feedback and assistance. Please note, definitely a rough draft.
I can finally breathe a sigh of relief – well at least a moment until the next step begins. I have finally submitted my Steps 3 & 4 for assignment 2 and it feels amazing!
I have uploaded a copy if anyone was interested, but don’t feel obliged. I am off to enjoy the rest of my weekend with the family!
Wish you all the best luck with your assessments, and hope it doesn’t take up your entire weekend trying to balance those statements!
I am still trying to restate my income statement, which compared to others I have viewed so far, my income statement is quite lengthy. However, I am stuck in my own head, as to what to apply to operation and what to apply to financial. My income statement, has some subheadings that consist of the word financial and is throwing me off.
The items following Operating income heading to the total financial heading i have marked all as financial, because the total financial includes all this items. Would you assume the same? And the section above that also has me stumped 😦
Can someone please take a look at my spreadsheet screenshot below, and let me know if you would agree?
Well … the last few weeks with uni study, work and a teething toddler has certainly been a difficult challenge. I fell like a duck paddling, above water I am calm however underneath my legs are paddling like crazy.
I have not finished restating my spreadsheet, and as my baby is due to wake any minute I thought I should post this now, as i may not get a chance later today. After all this is only a draft, and not the assignment submission.
As you may be able to tell, my company has quite lengthy financials, especially for the balance sheet and income statement. It has definitely taken some time to complete and also trying to finalise task 2.
I hope everyone has had a good run at their restating. Looking forward to some feedback. I
Any restating champions out there able to help me?
I am restating my Statement of Equity & Changes and having trouble distingusihing/convincing myself where ‘translation adjustment’ sits in terms of Operating or Financial. I can’t decide and keep going between the two. Can anyone help shed some light?
I should have shared this earlier, but this is a document I believe you should save onto your computer and use each term. This little beauty is my stress saver.
Its a simple excel version of a term planner for the uni term at CQU. When printed it will usually stick to 1×1 page and I have this on top of my folder for the term, so I can always glance at it.
You simply change the date in the first date box, and it will automatically update the dates for the entire 13 week term. You just may need to change the uni break week as some terms may differ. Otherwise, I colour code each subjects’ due assessment and its all view-able at a glance. Please share with others 🙂
Louise Edwards
– a captivating writing style. This blog has a clean, neat and easy to follow
layout. What I like most about this blog, is the way Louise writes. There is a
real interest into what is written, and I feel like she has truly understood
her company and the chapter readings. This was one of the first blogs I
followed, and I feel it has helped me ease into the unit’s online
communications. https://twopointoh.school.blog/
Jake Mclean
– ‘who the fook’ is that guy? The blogs initial blog heading caught my
attention, and I started following Jake. He has a humour in his writing, which I
feel makes him relatable. It has also given me the view that the unit can be
viewed from a more enjoyable aspect. I enjoy readings Jakes blogs and
assessments so far. https://jakemaclean.school.blog/
Jessica Bishop – I have chosen Jessica’s blog to be in my top 3 as I have enjoyed reading her posts so far. Jessica’s layout is simple and easy to read, and this is what I like most. The posts are regular and insightful about her company, which shows she has undertaken a general interest in her company. https://jess682167292.wordpress.com/
All in all, the above are all my favourite
for different reasons. Louise inspires me to write more and do better on my assessment.
Jake has a humour which is great to read after those tough days, even so
recently on his post about going to PNG for work and having no internet, yet he
has a positive attitude towards it all https://jakemaclean.school.blog/2019/08/08/two-steps-forward-one-step-backwards/.
Jessica
I truly admire for tackling university with a young child and pregnant, yet provides
regular blogs and has assessment of great standard.
After reviewing the wonderful feedback I have received from my peers, it was made clear that I should share a photo of myself, not just my son. But lets be real, that cuteness deserves to be put on display rather than my mug. So I went through my phone (and the 1 million photos of my son) and found a recent picture that I am actually in.
Thanks for stopping by to check out my draft of Step 3 – ASS#1. I have also included a link to my Step 4, as I believe it is completed and thought it may be worth uploading also. Please feel free to leave me feedback, constructive criticism is also welcomed.
Step 3 is definitely a draft, my sick child will not stay asleep and this is my last chance to post my draft. So any feedback will definitely help as I am not sure I am on the right path.
Looking forward to reading your drafts also, thank you in advance 🙂
I was super excited when I found out we were getting an actual company and doing a spreadsheet on their figures – I do love numbers and a good spreadsheet. I was hesitant when I found my company was overseas, however, motor vehicle transport are standard no matter the destination so my fingers were crossed Scania wouldn’t be too difficult to understand!
Scania. The first sentence from their website sums up exactly what they are about “Scania is a world leading provider of transport solutions. Together with our partners and customers we are driving the shift towards a sustainable transport system.” The company sell transport trucks, buses and coaches and also engines for other vehicle types. Their main focus on production types is sustainability and innovation, and this is repeated throughout their website and annual reports, showing that they want their business to not only grow in the modern world but also to protect our planet.
Finding the annual reports for Scania was quite simple. From the home page, investor relations and there was a link to all annual/sustainability reports.
Coincidentally as I write this blog, a news article on the companies interim report for 2019 show the company has hit a record sales with an increase of 17% compared to last year. This is a growing trend for Scania. Check out the article here .
As per the chart shown below, Net Sales & Income are steadily increasing and I believe this has a lot to do with their approach for the future. Please take a look at this company, whilst they are based in Sweden, they are a very intriguing business.
I will be posting my draft of ASS #1 Step 3 & 4 within the next day. I am looking forward to reading about other companies and drafts.
